(Haut-Medoc)

Bernadotte, (Haut-Medoc), 2004

“Bernadotte’s well-made 2004 exhibits a deep ruby/plum/purple color as well as elegant cranberry, black cherry, and currant notes, good acidity, and a spicy, fresh, invigorating finish. Not a big wine, it displays a style completely different from the 2003. Drink it during its first decade of life.” —Robert Parker

Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir

Domaine Paul Pillot, Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir, 2009

The fruit for this Bourgogne rouge comes from sites within Chassagne and from Chagny and Remigny, on a mix of of clay and chalk soils, from vines averaging 35 years of age. The grapes are hand picked and fully destemmed before being fermented and aged on lees in a mix of small stainless steel vats and barrel for 12 months. This is a bright, tangy red Burgundy with lovely fruit and plenty of energy. Outstanding quality and value.

This wonderful Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon shows concentrated rich dark fruit with hints of plum, black cherry and cassis. A big, delicious mouthful with a nice long elegant finish.

Daniel has been kind enough to send Sherry-Lehmann a small allocation to share with our clientele.

Cotes du Rhone Villages Cuvee les Antonins Visan

Domaine de L'Obrieu, Cotes du Rhone Villages Cuvee les Antonins Visan, 2009

The 35–60 year-old vines that supply this 90/10 blend of Grenache and Syrah are high in elevation and south-facing, ensuring a decidedly Mediterranean influence — which means more structure and darker flavors (think black currant and really dark cherries) than most Rhônes. Grenache is dominant, but with a concentration level surpassed only by some Châteauneuf-du-Papes. Stunning value from the excellent 2009 vintage.

(Bordeaux Blanc)

Lamothe de Haux, (Bordeaux Blanc), 2010

“Year after year, Lamothe de Haux produces enticing Bordeaux blanc blends….It has become a cult white in New York…[serve] lightly chilled, with a Cobb salad and, as the Bordelais do, with langoustines and smoked salmon.”
N.Y. Times.

Montagny "Les Buys"

Louis Latour, Montagny "Les Buys", 2008

The appellation of Montagny lies south of Beaune in the rolling vales and hills of the southern part of the Cote Chalonnaise. It is a 100% white wine appellation controllee originating solely from Chardonnay.

Louis Latour selects only those wines from grapes with a high natural sugar content which constitutes the most reliable indicator of maturity, and therefore quality. Once purchased, the wine is nurtured by the cellarmen at Maison Louis Latour who carefully rack the young Montagny off its lees just before bottling. This, as for every Latour wine, contributes the guarantee of typicity and quality of Latour Montagny.
